The SCAPIA credit card, which is being touted as a co-branded one, where the website (https://www.scapia.cards/) is not linked to the bank (https://www.federalbank.co.in/) Recipe for fraud.
Credit cards have now become lure for banking customers instead of the delighters they once used to be.
Federal Bank is a highly respected but largely regional bank with small operations.
Clearly, the Scapia credit card is not the brainchild of their regular long time directors. Some external party with relevant expertise must be involved.
To get a Scapia credit card I had to apply.

I got the plastic card delivered to me
To activate the credit card I was being forced to download the app.
It does not have any functions on a website on a browser, where better safety protocols can be enforced as compared to an app sitting activated on my Android OS.
The android/ iOS app is mandatory.
RED FLAG NUMBER ONE.
After downloading the mandatory app, I was taken to a page where I would have to consent to my phone sending SMSes on its own from the Scapia app without my intervention.
BIG RED FLAG NUMBER TWO.
I rejected the credit card. Destroying it and uninstalled the app.
